Quick answers to common questions, with links to the full explanation.
Why is a value blank or "Not reported"? Almost always because the company doesn't disclose that line item — not a CW error. Hover the metric for the specific reason, or ask the AI Agent "why is X blank?". See Why is a value blank?.
How fresh is the data? Data comes from publicly available filings and processing takes time, so values can lag the latest quarter — sometimes by one to two quarters. CW always labels the period shown. See Data & Methodology.
Is this investment advice? No. CW presents public data only and gives no recommendations. The AI Agent will decline requests for buy/sell advice or price targets.
Why don't I see the AI Agent button? It appears only when you're signed in and chat is enabled. If you're signed in and still don't see it, the feature may be disabled at the moment.
Why did the AI say I hit a limit? There's a per-hour message cap and a monthly plan quota (Free: 30 messages/month; Analyst: 3,000). Hourly limits clear on their own; monthly quotas reset at the start of each month. See Limits & quotas.
Can the AI make up numbers?
It's built not to: it can only quote values from CW's data tools, and it says so
when data is missing. If something looks wrong, check the page the value links
to — and tell us via /feedback.
Why do the peers look odd for my company? Peer selection is currently sector-based and acknowledged as a first pass. When the sector is missing, the fallback set is flagged low quality. You can ask the AI Agent to compare against specific tickers instead. See How peers are chosen.
Two companies show different "latest" quarters in a comparison. Bug? No — companies file on different schedules and have different fiscal year-ends. CW labels each company's period rather than pretending they align.
Why is EBITDA (or an EBITDA ratio) missing? EBITDA is computed from disclosed inputs (with fallbacks). When a filer doesn't disclose the inputs, EBITDA and its ratios stay blank rather than being guessed.
Where did my generated report go?
My reports (/account/reports). Reports generate in the background, so give
a fresh one a moment to reach "ready".
Can I delete my chat history? Yes — open the chat history list in the AI drawer and use the delete control on any conversation. Admins can review chat logs for support and abuse prevention; see Privacy.
I saw a brief "maintenance" banner / a 503 error. A data sync was running. These windows are short; retry in a few minutes.
I lost access to my authenticator app. Use one of your 2FA recovery codes at sign-in. If those are gone too, contact an administrator.
